Job summary

Julius Baer is seeking an experienced portfolio manager and credit analyst for the Global Quality High Yield desk in Zurich. You will co-manage the Julius Baer Global Quality High Yield UCITS fund and select high yield issuers across discretionary mandates.

The role requires a university Master’s degree, five years in fixed income high yield, strong analytical and client-interaction skills, and Bloomberg expertise, with Python a plus. English required; Swiss base in Zurich with a global remit.

Qualifications

• University Master’s degree required.
• CFA designation is advantageous.
• At least five years in fixed income high yield fund management or credit analysis.
• Strong analytical, communication, and client interaction skills.
• Proficiency with Bloomberg essential; Python or similar languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Co-manage the Julius Baer Global Quality High Yield UCITS fund and implement investment strategies across funds and mandates.
• Drive risk-adjusted performance and benchmark-relative results.
• Take ownership of high yield issuer selection for discretionary mandates.
• Perform bottom-up issuer and bond analysis, financial modelling, scenario and covenant analysis.
• Formulate regional and sectoral positioning, durations, and credit overlays.
• Actively manage credit, currency, and rates risk; utilize CDS/CDX hedging.
• Collaborate with sub-committees and port management teams; provide input to senior management.
• Contribute to fund manager reports, strategy updates, and client meetings.
