The European Union Delegation to Switzerland (Bern) seeks a Press and Information Officer to act as spokesperson, advise the Ambassador on communication matters, and manage media relations and digital campaigns. The role covers public diplomacy, event coordination, and content development for visibility of EU activities.

Employment is full-time with a competitive benefits package. The base salary typically starts from CHF 10,343 monthly.

Qualifikationen

• University degree in political science, communication, international relations, media, journalism or public relations or related field
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a relevant field (media, online publishing, public relations, communication, events) after graduation
• Excellent knowledge (C1) of German, French and English
• Right to residence and work in Switzerland (where applicable)
• Ability to translate policy issues into media language and develop communication strategies

Aufgaben

• Maintain relationships with local and international journalists and media organizations
• Prepare and disseminate press releases, press reviews, and speeches for media and internet publication
• Develop and implement public diplomacy strategies to improve EU perception in Switzerland and Liechtenstein
• Lead EU Delegation's digital and social media strategy and oversee content across platforms
• Organize press coverage during official missions and events
• Coordinate digital campaigns with external service providers
• Support event organization and public outreach activities
• Advise the Ambassador on communication-related matters and work with HQ on messaging
