Hitachi Energy's Zurich site is seeking a Project Manager for Structural Engineering to lead multidisciplinary projects from design through on-site installation. You will coordinate with teams across the Czech Republic, India, and external partners to deliver robust, compliant solutions in energy infrastructure.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, 3+ years in technical project management, and strong communication in an international setting.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in technical project management within civil engineering, ideally in steel structures, industrial plants, substations, or energy infrastructure.
• Experience with GIS projects or substation engineering is a strong advantage.
• Proficiency in CAD tools (2D and 3D AutoCAD); Tekla Structures BIM is beneficial.
• Understanding of Eurocodes, EN 1090; experience with SCIA Engineer or STAAD.Pro is a plus.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is advantageous.
• Strong communication and organizational skills in international teams; English required; German or other languages an advantage.

Job Description: The opportunity Hitachi Energy's High Voltage Products business is a global leader in power transmission and distribution. At our Zurich-Oerlikon site, we develop and manufacture gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) that helps deliver reliable electrical energy worldwide. We are looking for a Project Manager Structural Engineering to join our team. In this role, you will manage technical engineering projects in close collaboration with our project team in the Czech Republic, support projects throughout their lifecycle, and lead technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders. You bring a degree in Civil Engineering and several years of experience in structural engineering, steel construction, or a related field. How you’ll make an impact

• Manage structural engineering projects throughout the entire lifecycle, from sales support and design to fabrication and on-site installation

• Drive continuous improvement by sharing lessons learned, supporting root cause analysis, and implementing sustainable solutions to enhance future project execution

Your background

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in technical project management within civil engineering, ideally in steel structures, industrial plants, substations, or energy infrastructure
• Experience with GIS projects or substation engineering is a strong advantage
• Proficiency in CAD tools (2D and 3D AutoCAD); experience with BIM software such as Tekla Structures is beneficial
• Understanding of structural design standards and building codes (e.g., Eurocodes, AISC, EN 1090); experience with structural analysis software such as SCIA Engineer or STAAD.Pro is a plus
• Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems is advantageous
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in international and cross-functional teams
• Professional proficiency in English; German or additional languages are considered an advantage
