Job summary

Stadler Rail AG invites motivated talents to shape tomorrow's mobility. We seek a Project Manager to lead ETCS onboard system integration projects, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, quality and safety across the full lifecycle.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders and suppliers, and report on performance while driving continuous improvement. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• University degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Multiple years of project management experience, preferably in railway/transport.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary technical projects (scope, schedule, budget, quality, customer satisfaction).
• Knowledge of railway standards/regulations (e.g., TSI CCS, UNISIG) is an advantage.
• Experience with ETCS onboard systems or railway signaling is an advantage.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Structured, proactive, results-oriented with high ownership.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.
• Fluency in English; German or other languages are a plus.
• Willingness to travel 10–25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical and commercial PM of ETCS onboard system integration projects.
• Manage projects through full lifecycle from handover by Sales to warranty end.
• Ensure objectives on schedule, budget, quality, safety and customer satisfaction.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee all project activities for timely execution.
• Coordinate all project stakeholders including customers, suppliers, internal teams and partners.
• Identify, assess, and manage risks, opportunities, changes, dependencies.
• Monitor project financial performance: costs, revenues, forecasting and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and provide timely reporting.
• Lead, motivate and develop cross-functional project teams.
• Drive continuous improvement in PM methodologies, processes, tools and practices.
• Contribute to overall project execution excellence and business performance.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

• University degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or similar).
• Several years of experience in project management, preferably within the railway or transportation industry.
• Experience in managing multidisciplinary technical projects with responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Knowledge of railway standards and regulations (e.g., TSI CCS, UNISIG) is an advantage.
• Experience with ETCS onboard systems or railway signaling is an advantage.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Structured, proactive, and results-oriented working style with a high level of ownership.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
• Fluent in English; German and additional languages are an asset.
