Job summary

CTC is seeking a Project Manager for a global leader in fire protection systems within pharmaceutical, biotech, and chemical environments. The role focuses on defining concepts, coordinating with engineering partners, and delivering compliant solutions on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of engineering and project execution experience, fluency in German, and knowledge of VKF/SES regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Process, Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Fluent German required; English basic to intermediate.
• Extensive experience with fire protection systems and relevant codes (VKF, SES).
• Pharma/biotech/chemical manufacturing experience preferred (GMP/cleanrooms).

Responsibilities

• Define and implement fire protection concepts for capital projects.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and site fire brigade.
• Oversee design reviews, commissioning, testing, and handover of systems.
• Ensure delivery within budget, schedule, and quality standards.
• Support CAPEX team activities as required.
• Review as-built docs and transfer systems to operations.

Our client, a global market leader in the production and process support of active pharmaceutical ingredients, both in the chemical and biotechnology sectors, is looking for a:

Project Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the definition and implementation of fire protection concepts and requirements for capital projects
• Coordinate with architects, engineering partners, fire protection specialists, project teams, and the site fire brigade
• Lead the technical oversight of fire protection systems, including sprinkler systems, deluge systems, dry extinguishing systems, firewater networks, and firewater retention solutions
• Manage contractors and vendors responsible for technical fire protection installations
• Ensure project delivery in line with costs, timelines, quality standards, and compliance requirements
• Participate in 3D design reviews and multidisciplinary coordination to resolve clashes and technical issues
• Oversee commissioning, functional testing, and acceptance activities for fire protection systems
• Participate in integrated system tests
• Review, collect, and hand over as-built documentation and ensure smooth transfer of systems to operations and end users
• Support additional engineering activities within the CAPEX team as required

Your profile:

• Relevant Swiss working/residency permit and/or Swiss/EU-Citizenship required
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• German: Business Fluent (required); English: Basic to intermediate proficiency preferred; French: Nice to have
• Extensive experience working with fire protection systems and related regulations, standards, and guidelines (e.g., VKF, SES) and knowledge of fire safety codes, regulations, and industry standards
• Strong understanding of fire risk assessments and selection criteria for wet versus dry suppression technologies in industrial, pharmaceutical, laboratory, and utility facilities
• Experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, chemical, or industrial manufacturing environments
• Approximately 5-10 years of engineering, project execution, or operational experience within the pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, or related industries (GMP/cleanrooms preferable)
• Experience with commissioning and integrated testing activities
