Zusammenfassung

Tecan in Switzerland is seeking a Project Manager to lead development projects end-to-end, ensuring timely delivery, budget compliance, and achievement of key performance objectives. You will own mid-sized projects, including internal initiatives and customer-specific efforts.

The role requires a technical degree, PhD preferred, PMP or similar certification, and at least 3 years of experience in regulated, automated instrument development.

Qualifikationen

  • BSc or MSc in engineering, life sciences, mechanical or electrical disciplines.
  • A PhD in Life Sciences with PM certifications will set you apart.
  • At least 3 years of experience in project management, preferably in the development of complex instruments or automated solutions for diagnostic applications.
  • Experience in product management and business administration is a bonus.
  • Fluent in English; German and other languages are a plus.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical solutions to diverse audiences.
  • Proven experience leading highly regulated product development projects, with automation and agile project management.

Aufgaben

  • Defining and building project teams with cross-functional skills.
  • Managing planning, staffing, and execution of development projects for lab automation and clinical diagnostics.
  • Planning, monitoring, and reporting on complex projects, coordinating interfaces with related projects.
  • Ensuring proactive communication within the organization and with stakeholders, including management board members.
  • Demonstrating clear leadership within the organization towards all management levels.
  • Coordinating team members located across multiple locations.
  • Ensuring adherence to ISO 13485, IEC 61010, and the machinery directive.
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional team activities from feasibility to industrialization.
  • Drive effective stakeholder management and proactively resolve conflicts within the project team and across stakeholders.

Your contribution

In this pivotal role, you will take the lead on development projects from end to end, ensuring timely delivery, budget compliance, and achievement of key performance objectives. You will have full ownership and accountability for mid-sized projects, including internal initiatives and customer specific projects.

Responsibilities
  • Defining and building project teams with the right cross-functional mix of professional skills.
  • Managing the planning, staffing, and execution of development projects for lab automation and clinical diagnostics according to applicable development processes.
  • Planning, monitoring, and reporting on complex projects, coordinating interfaces with related projects.
  • Ensuring proactive and proper communication within the organization and with stakeholders, including management board members.
  • Demonstrating clear leadership within the organization towards all management levels.
  • Coordinating team members located across multiple locations.
  • Through leadership and methodological competence, ensure efficient implementation and adherence to processes, guidelines, and regulations, such as: ISO 13485, IEC 61010, and the machinery directive (2006/42/EC).
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional team activities across departments to ensure successful delivery of project goals - from feasibility studies and product development through design transfer and industrialization.
  • Drive effective stakeholder management and proactively resolve conflicts within the project team and across stakeholders.
Your background

  • A PhD in Life Sciences, along with project management education, PMP or similar certifications, and training in change management and leadership, will set you apart.
  • At least 3 years of experience in project management, preferably in the development of complex instruments or automated solutions for diagnostic applications.
  • Experience in product management and business administration is a bonus.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages (German and others) are a plus.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Proven experience in leading highly regulated product development projects, with a focus on automation, assay development, and agile project management.
