Job summary

University Hospital Basel (USB) seeks a Product Owner for the central network platform within the Digitalization and ICT area. The role is based in Basel with hybrid work options and starts on 1 January 2027, at 80–100% workload.

You will manage development priorities, coordinate with architecture, security, and business units, and translate strategic goals into clear features and stories while aligning with SAFe practices and cross-ART teams.

Qualifications

• Completed vocational training or a degree in computer science, network engineering, or a comparable field.
• At least five years of experience in network environments with knowledge of modern network architectures (LAN, WAN, WLAN, firewalling, routing and switching).
• Experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or in a comparable role involving prioritisation, backlog management, and stakeholder management.
• Practical experience with agile methods, ideally in a SAFe environment, and the ability to combine business requirements with technical solutions.
• Excellent communication and moderation skills, strong decision-making ability and very good German language skills; English is an advantage.

The role

This position sits within the Digitalization and ICT area, under the Platform portfolio. The Product Owner is responsible for the central network platform and works within a SAFe Agile Release Train (ART). The role starts on 1 January 2027 and is offered at 80–100% workload.

What you would do

• Take professional responsibility for the further development and prioritisation of the central network platform.
• Coordinate requirements and dependencies between operations, architecture, information security, infrastructure, and business units.
• Translate strategic goals, professional requirements, and technical challenges into clearly prioritised features and user stories.

• Prioritise, maintain, and further develop the team backlog in a network environment within the SAFe Agile Release Train.
