Zusammenfassung

Enova Consulting Sàrl is seeking a Process Safety Engineer to support risk analysis and safety studies at an industrial site in Geneva, Switzerland. You will work with EHS, engineering and operations to align with standards and drive safety improvements across projects.

The role emphasizes technical expertise in process safety, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to safeguard facilities and personnel.

Qualifikationen

  • Master's degree or engineering degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Process Safety within chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven experience conducting Process Safety studies such as HAZOP, LOPA, SIL.
  • Strong knowledge of API, CCPS, IEC 61511 and SEVESO standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams and equipment specs.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities; strong written and verbal communication.
  • Team-oriented, proactive, able to work independently.
  • Fluent French and good technical English for reading/writing international HSE docs.

Aufgaben

  • Conduct and update process risk assessments (HAZOP/What-If/LOPA) and recommend prevention measures.
  • Interpret thermal safety data and propose mitigation for chemical processes.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to safety requirements in projects.
  • Lead MOC processes and assess Process Safety impact of changes.
  • Provide technical support to Operations and Maintenance on Process Safety topics.
  • Support regulatory audits, QRA studies, explosion protection and other safety assessments.
  • Train employees and promote Process Safety culture across the site.

Jobbeschreibung

Context

As part of the reinforcement of the Process Safety team at an industrial site located in Geneva, Switzerland, we are looking for a Process Safety Engineer (H/F) to contribute to the management of risks associated with chemical processes and to the safety of industrial operations.

Reporting to the HSE / Process Safety Department, you will work in a demanding industrial environment and provide technical support to Production, Maintenance and Engineering teams.

Your role will focus on preventing major accidents, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations, and continuously improving the site's process safety performance.

Your role

As a Process Safety Engineer, you will act as a technical expert on process safety-related topics.

You will contribute to the identification, assessment and mitigation of process risks across existing facilities, technical modifications and new projects.

You will work closely with EHS, Engineering, Production and Maintenance teams, as well as with external stakeholders and local authorities when required.

Vos missions
  • Process Risk Analysis
    • Conduct and update process risk assessments, including HAZOP, What-If and LOPA studies.
    • Identify potential risk scenarios and recommend appropriate prevention and protection measures.
    • Contribute to safety studies for existing facilities and new projects.
  • Thermal Safety & Technical Analysis
    • Interpret thermal safety test results such as DSC, C80 and RC1.
    • Identify appropriate solutions to mitigate risks associated with chemical reactions and industrial processes.
    • Analyze complex technical data and provide clear recommendations.
  • Engineering & Industrial Projects
    • Participate in design reviews of equipment and industrial installations.
    • Contribute to investment projects and facility modifications from a Process Safety perspective.
    • Ensure that safety requirements are considered throughout the design process.
  • Management of Change & Compliance
    • Participate in Management of Change (MOC) processes.
    • Assess the Process Safety impact of technical changes and verify compliance with applicable requirements.
    • Support the implementation and monitoring of Process Safety standards in line with the company's EHS policy.
  • Operational & Maintenance Support
    • Provide technical support to Operations and Maintenance teams on Process Safety matters.
    • Provide expertise on topics such as inerting, pressure, temperature and chemical compatibility.
    • Support teams in implementing Process Safety best practices.
  • Audits, Regulations & Safety Studies
    • Participate in regulatory compliance audits and inspections.
    • Contribute to Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA), explosion protection studies and other safety assessments.
    • Support compliance with applicable Process Safety standards and regulations.
  • Training & Awareness
    • Train and raise awareness among employees on Process Safety principles and best practices.
    • Promote a strong Process Safety culture across the site.
    • Communicate regulatory and technical requirements to relevant stakeholders.

Your profile

  • Master's degree or engineering degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Process Safety within a chemical or pharmaceutical industrial environment.
  • Proven experience conducting Process Safety studies.
  • Strong knowledge of HAZOP, LOPA, SIL and ATEX methodologies.
  • Good knowledge of international Process Safety standards such as API, CCPS, IEC 61511 and SEVESO.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams and equipment specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex technical information.
  • Excellent communication and training skills.
  • Team-oriented, proactive and able to work independently.
  • Fluent French and good technical English, particularly for reading and writing international HSE documentation.
