Job summary

Lonza Group Ltd. in Visp, Switzerland, is seeking a motivated Process Chemist to join our Process Development Team for Small Molecules within the Advanced Synthesis Platform.

You will develop, optimize, and scale manufacturing processes for APIs and HPAPIs from early clinical development through Process Validation, supervise laboratory experiments, transfer processes to GMP facilities, and ensure robust, compliant data.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry.
• Industrial experience in chemical process development.
• Experience transferring processes to GMP manufacturing.
• GMP knowledge and regulated-environment experience.
• Strong scientific mindset for analyzing and improving processes.
• Independent, structured and collaborative working style; English fluent; German preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and scale chemical manufacturing processes for APIs and HPAPIs from early clinical development through Process Validation Plan.
• Supervise, evaluate laboratory experiments, ensure data reliability and accurate interpretation.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and development documentation.
• Transfer processes to GMP manufacturing facilities and provide technical support during production campaigns.
• Identify risks, troubleshoot challenges, and implement scalable compliant solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external customers to align goals and timelines.
