Hitachi Energy is seeking an experienced Senior System Engineer with a strong background in power electronics, power systems and system simulations. You will lead design of converter systems (SFC, STAT-COMs) from tender to project execution and collaborate across Sales, Engineering, Project Management and Service.

A Master’s or PhD in electrical engineering, focus on Power Systems and Power Electronics, plus hands-on experience in hydropower or railway sectors, is highly valued.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree or PhD in electrical engineering with focus on Power Systems and Power Electronics.
• Experience in hydropower or railway sectors is a strong plus.
• Fluent in English; German or additional languages are an advantage.
• Willingness to travel globally.

Aufgaben

• Design power electronic converter systems from sales to project execution, including site visits.
• Own the system engineering scope throughout project execution, in collaboration with Sales, Engineering, PM and Service.
• Perform system design tasks such as simulations (harmonics, transients), component specs, control and protection definitions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards and grid codes.
• Identify risks and opportunities, proposing mitigation measures.
• Work with R&D on system design and modeling of converter systems.
• Define and evaluate on-site performance measurements.
• Contribute to continuous development of engineering processes.
