Job summary

ETH Zurich's D-ITET PBL invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Embedded Hardware, FPGA, Edge AI and Smart Sensors. The role combines hands-on hardware, FPGA design, and complete system development with teaching responsibilities.

Ideal candidate has a PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field, strong hardware experience, and a track record in Edge AI, TinyML, sensor integration, and European project coordination. 80-100% Zurich fixed-term appointment.

Qualifications

• PhD in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• Strong hands-on embedded hardware background required.
• Experience with FPGA design and implementation, HDL development, and hardware/software co-design.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and contribute to teaching in embedded systems, FPGA design, and machine learning on microcontrollers.
• Develop complete embedded hardware/software systems from sensors to prototypes.
• Supervise student projects and participate in lab management and project coordination.
