Zusammenfassung

ETH Zurich’s Soft Robotics Lab invites applications for postdoctoral positions spanning soft and musculoskeletal robotics, biohybrid living systems, dexterous manipulation and learning, and embodied AI. You will explore new directions, build real systems, and publish results from a collaborative, interdisciplinary lab environment.

We value independent researchers who can define their own research agenda and work across hardware, biology, and machine learning to advance robotics.

Qualifikationen

  • Completed PhD in a relevant technical field and track record of publishable results.
  • Strong hands-on experience building and testing robotic systems.
  • Experience with machine learning and control for physical robots.
  • Proven ability to mentor or supervise students and communicate across disciplines.

Aufgaben

  • Take a research idea from concept to a working system: architecture, build, sensing, control, and real-world validation.
  • Prototype rapidly, measure, and iterate to drive project progress.
  • Engineer bones, joints, tendons, and muscles using compliant materials or living tissue.
  • Develop embodiment-based control for rich, adaptive robot behavior.
  • Advance learning methods that work on real hardware and contribute benchmarks.
  • Publish in top venues and release open-source hardware and code.
