Job summary

The Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research WSL in Lausanne invites applications for a 2-year PostDoc position in Urban Tree Ecophysiology and Ecohydrology (f/m/d). Based at WSL Lausanne, you will investigate tree water use, soil hydraulic properties, and urban green infrastructure performance to support nature-based cooling and rainwater retention in future cities.

• Experience with field instrumentation and data analysis with R or Python is essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-situ measurements of tree water use and soil-moisture monitoring.
• Parameterise urban ecohydrological models and scale up to city-wide assessments.
• Collaborate with local stakeholders and program partners within NovaCity.
• Publish results and contribute to interdisciplinary research outputs.
