Zusammenfassung

ETH Zurich’s Neurotechnology Group seeks postdoctoral researchers and PhD students to advance ultrasound-mediated brain drug delivery. The project combines chemical formulation, engineering, and imaging to translate carrier technologies into clinical studies.

Candidates will develop and optimize drug carriers, assess loading and release, evaluate stability and biocompatibility, and contribute to first-in-human study preparation, collaborating across engineering, chemistry, and biomedical teams.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in a related field as described for postdoc; or PhD in the specified disciplines for PhD track.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills; programming experience is a plus (Python, MATLAB).
• Hands-on experience with carrier formulation, characterization, and ultrasound-enabled drug delivery is highly desirable.

Aufgaben

• Design and synthesize ultrasound-responsive drug carrier formulations (microbubbles, nanodroplets, liposomes, or nanoparticles).
• Optimize drug loading, encapsulation efficiency, and release kinetics.
• Characterize carriers (size, zeta potential, stability, morphology).
• Develop chemical engineering of carrier production (microfluidics, emulsification, sonication).
• Assess carrier stability under ultrasound and physiological conditions; in vitro/in vivo evaluation of loading and release.
