ETH Zurich offers postdoctoral and PhD opportunities in the Neurotechnology Group to advance ultrasound-mediated brain drug delivery. The project spans chemical formulation, carrier engineering, and translational studies in collaboration with clinical partners.

Applicants should have a PhD or Master in chemical engineering, pharmaceutics, or related fields, with experience in drug delivery, carrier systems, and analytical methods.

Qualifikationen

• PhD or Master in chemical engineering, chemistry, pharmaceutics, materials science, biomedical engineering, or related field.
• Strong record in drug delivery, nanomedicine, or pharmaceutical sciences.
• Excellent academic record and analytical skills.

Aufgaben

• Design and synthesis of ultrasound-responsive drug carrier formulations (microbubbles, nanodroplets, liposomes, or nanoparticles).
• Optimize drug loading, encapsulation efficiency, and release kinetics.
• Characterize carriers (size, zeta potential, stability, morphology).
• Engineer carrier production processes (microfluidics, emulsification, sonication).
• Assess stability under ultrasound and physiological conditions; evaluate in vitro/in vivo performance.
• Develop analytical methods (HPLC, DLS) and contribute to first-in-human studies.
