Zusammenfassung

ETH Zurich seeks a Postdoctoral Optical Systems Engineer to design and build light-delivery systems shaping light profiles for hydrogel architecture in biofabrication. The role is 100% at Zurich, on a fixed-term basis within the Tissue Engineering and Biofabrication Laboratory.

The candidate will design, simulate, and deploy optical setups, collaborate across biomedical engineering, chemistry, and biology, and contribute to translating photonic concepts into engineered tissue scaffolds.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in a related discipline with optics emphasis.
• Hands-on experience with laser beam shaping and phase modulation.
• Software development for optical modeling and numerical analysis (Python, MATLAB).
• Strong publication record relative to career stage.

Aufgaben

• Design, simulate, and build custom optical setups and beam-shaping trains.
• Characterize how structured light interacts with photosensitive polymers.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to translate photonic concepts into engineered scaffolds for regenerative medicine.
