Zusammenfassung

ETH Zurich's Macromolecular Engineering Laboratory invites applications for a full‑time doctoral candidate to develop viscoelastic polymer hydrogels as 3D cell culture platforms for mechanobiology and tissue repair. The project combines polymer chemistry, bioengineering and cell biology, with rheology and nano‑indentation studies and interdisciplinary supervision.

Qualifikationen

  • The MSc degree requirements include a background in bioengineering or related fields.
  • A working knowledge of polymer synthesis and hydrogel fabrication is required.
  • Experience in 3D cell culture and biological assays, rheology, or live-cell imaging is advantageous.

Aufgaben

  • Synthesize and characterize dynamic covalent hydrogels and tailor their mechanical properties.
  • Apply tailorable hydrogel scaffolds to mechanobiology questions and tissue repair contexts.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and contribute to lab teaching and supervision.
