The Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) Winterthur invites applications for a PhD Student position in the Intelligent Lab for High-Throughput Solar Cell Characterization. You will help design automated measurement systems for photovoltaic device characterization and build robotic platforms for high-throughput testing.

You will work with an interdisciplinary team to integrate robotics, sensors, and data acquisition, and you will contribute to scientific publications.

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree in Mechatronics or related field.
• Strong interest in automation, robotics, instrumentation, or scientific hardware development.
• Hands-on experience with electronics, mechanical design, automation systems, or experimental instrumentation.
• Basic education in semiconductor physics and technology.
• Good English communication skills, both written and spoken.

Aufgaben

• Design and develop automated measurement systems for photovoltaic device characterization.
• Integrate robotics, motion-control systems, sensors, and measurement instruments into a unified platform.
• Develop software and hardware solutions for automated sample handling, measurement execution, and data acquisition.
• Characterize and analyze the degradation behavior of perovskite solar cells and disseminate results in presentations and publications.
