Job summary

University of Lausanne invites applications for a fully funded 100% position starting February 2027 in a dynamic, international lab exploring how cells build tissues. The role focuses on cell fate decisions in zebrafish retina and early embryos using spatial transcriptomics, live imaging and computational analysis.

This lab operates within the Center for Integrative Genomics. The position offers a 1-year contract renewable up to 5 years and opportunities to teach and mentor students.

Qualifications

• MSc in biology, biophysics, bioengineering, computational biology or related field.
• Experience with imaging, computational approaches (programming and modeling) is a plus.
• Excellent scientific writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct an independent research project on cell fate decisions and tissue formation in zebrafish retina and early embryos.
• Apply and further develop spatial transcriptomics, live imaging, and computational analysis methods.
• Design and perform experiments, analyze data, and interpret results.
• Present research at lab meetings, conferences, and seminars; contribute to publications.
