Job summary

ETH Zurich invites applications for a four-year PhD position in Experimental Nonlinear Dynamics and Nanomechanics. The project focuses on a programmable network of Kerr parametric oscillators (KPOs) with up to eight nodes, combining experiment, theory, and simulations in close collaboration with Prof. O. Zilberberg.

The role offers cutting-edge electronics, MEMS/FPGA expertise, and an international research environment with close supervision and room for your own ideas.

Qualifications

• MSc in physics, electrical engineering or related field completed or near completion.
• Hands-on experimental work experience in electronics and data analysis.
• Exposure to MEMS, Kerr parametric oscillators (KPOs) is a plus.
• Strong communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate a programmable network of up to eight KPOs with control and readout systems.
• Map attractor landscapes, switching statistics and probability currents from trajectories.
• Compare experiments with simulations and publish results internationally.
