Job summary

ETH Zurich seeks a highly motivated PhD student to work in the Spin Physics group on driven nonlinear resonators and neuromorphic dynamics. You will build and operate a network of coupled Kerr parametric oscillators, read out measurements, and compare experiments with theory to uncover dynamical pattern formation.

You hold or will soon complete an MSc in physics or electrical engineering, enjoy hands-on experimental work with electronics and Python, and can communicate in English.

Qualifications

  • MSc in physics or electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Hands-on experimental work with electronics and Python.
  • Experience with MEMS, lock-in detection, or FPGAs is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build and operate a programmable network of coupled KPOs with up to eight nodes.
  • Map attractor landscapes, switching statistics and probability currents from measured trajectories.
  • Collaborate with theory partners and publish results internationally.
