Zusammenfassung

NCCR Genesis invites applications for a fully funded PhD position to explore habitable planetary environments and biosignature detectability. The project involves developing a computational modelling framework and applying it to Venus and Enceladus in close collaboration with ETH Zurich and the University of Bern.

The successful candidate will work in an international, interdisciplinary setting at the forefront of planetary science and astrobiology, with opportunities to publish in leading

Qualifikationen

  • Master's degree (or near completion) in physics, astronomy, planetary science, Earth science, computational science, chemistry or related discipline.
  • Strong quantitative skills and experience in scientific programming (preferably Python).
  • Curiosity, motivation and ability to work across disciplines in a team.

Aufgaben

  • Develop a computational modelling framework for habitability of planetary environments.
  • Investigate biosignature detectability in Venus cloud layers and Enceladus subsurface ocean.
  • Collaborate with ETH Zurich and University of Bern researchers; contribute to publications and conferences.
