ETH Zurich's Biotechnology and Bioengineering group at D-BSSE in Basel invites highly motivated candidates to pursue a PhD on the integration of synthetic biology, nanotechnology, and bioelectronics.

Projects will combine catalyst engineering, computation, bioelectrode fabrication, and electrical engineering to engineer programmable cells for wireless control of therapeutic expression and metabolic regulation.

Qualifikationen

• Demonstrated research excellence in a relevant field.
• Experience in bioelectronics or simulations is desirable.
• Willingness to collaborate across biology and engineering.
• PhD-level research in related areas such as synthetic biology or nanotechnology.

Aufgaben

• Develop bioelectronic interfaces enabling closed-loop programming of cellular behaviour.
• Conduct real-time monitoring of metabolic activity and related software control.
