Zusammenfassung

ETH Zurich invites applications for a full-time doctoral position focusing on the optical and structural characterization of semiconductor nanocrystals. The successful candidate will study CdSe magic-sized nanocrystals and extend to other sizes, compositions, and core/shell structures using ensemble and single-particle spectroscopy, plus cryogenic electron microscopy.

Working closely with synthesis and theoretical modeling teams, you will explore size- and shape-dependent optical properties,

Qualifikationen

  • MSc or near-completion in chemistry, materials science, physics, or related field.
  • Strong experimental background in optical spectroscopy or microscopy is expected.
  • Experience with nanocrystal synthesis or characterization is advantageous.

Aufgaben

  • Characterize semiconductor nanocrystals using optical and structural techniques.
  • Investigate size, shape, composition, and surface effects on optical properties.
  • Collaborate with synthesis and modeling teams; contribute to data analysis.
  • Prepare materials for cryogenic electron microscopy and single-particle analysis.
