Payments Integration Architect — Lead Platform Migration

Job summary

Strativ Group in Zürich seeks a Senior Solution Architect to own integration architecture and the migration path for a major payments platform. You will lead two domains— multi-payment rails and fraud management— and act as the technical lead with partner banks and vendors.

You’ll present options to the executive team, challenge engineers on integration details, and ensure designs align with FINMA and PCI DSS requirements while moving away from legacy systems.

Qualifications

• Solid background in integration or solution architecture for large distributed systems, ideally in payments, banking or insurance.
• Hands-on knowledge of domain-driven design, API design (REST, OpenAPI, gRPC) and event-driven systems such as Kafka.
• Experience with hybrid environments: on-prem, Kubernetes, and some cloud (GCP, Azure or AWS).
• Payment processing, card/EMV or fraud detection experience is a strong plus.
• Confident communicating with both executives and engineers
• Fluent German and English; Italian is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Design how payment, fraud and banking systems connect in the new platform, using APIs and event streaming.
• Lead the move away from legacy systems, uncoupling them step by step.
• Own the technical relationship with external suppliers and partner banks
• Make architectural decisions within your domains, and bring cross-domain topics to the architecture board
• Work with security to keep designs compliant with FINMA and PCI DSS, including threat modelling and Zero Trust principles
• Document applications and interfaces (LeanIX) and support teams working in SAFe and project setups
