Job summary

Lonza Group Ltd. is seeking a Production Scheduler to manage holistic operations planning for mid-scale pharmaceutical production. The role focuses on coordinating safety, quality, and on-time delivery across upstream and downstream processes, with collaboration across multiple departments.

The ideal candidate has >3 years in supply or project planning in pharma, fluent English, and hands-on experience with planning tools such as MS Project, Schedule Pro, Orchestrate, and Excel. German is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in supply or project planning for pharmaceuticals.
• Professional English proficiency; German desirable.
• Experience with planning tools: MS Project, Schedule Pro, Orchestrate, Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop integrated plan coordinating operational activities across process, facility, and resources.
• Plan equipment/maintenance, audits, and plant changes including qualification activities.
• Collaborate with Supply Planning, Bioprocess engineers and other departments to coordinate activities.
• Contribute to Master Production Schedule and capacity modelling.
• Develop measures to improve planning accuracy; author GMP-relevant documents and SOPs.
• Prepare and review quality records such as change controls.
• Drive performance with dashboards and reporting tools.

As member of the Manufacturing Support Team, the Production Scheduler performs the holistic operations planning for mid-scale operations including upstream and downstream production with regard to safety, quality standards and on-time-in full delivery.

General functional responsibilities:

• Development of an integrated plan for the coordination of all operational activities with consideration to process, facility, and resource requirements.
• Other scheduling activities include equipment/facility maintenance planning, customer and audit visitations, as well as the coordination of large and small plant changes including qualification activities.
• Collaboration with Supply Planning, Bioprocess engineers, Production shift leads, Manufacturing Science and Technology, Engineering, EMR, Lonza Services departments to coordinate operational and maintenance activities.
• Contributes to the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on supply planning.
• Responsible for capacity modelling including facility throughput improvements.
• Proactively develop strategies to anticipate or counteract possible future supply bottlenecks.
• Active development of measures to improve planning accuracy (process and system optimization).
• Authoring and reviewing GMP-relevant documents and SOPs.
• Preparing and reviewing quality records such as change controls.

Project-specific responsibilities:

• Responsible for driving performance through dashboards, Hoshin boards and other reporting tools.

Job requirements:

• Several years (>3 years in total) of experience in either supply planning or project planning for pharmaceuticals, as well as experience in production environment.
• Fluent in English.
• Experience using planning tools such as Microsoft Project, Schedule Pro, Orchestrate, Excel.
• Strong ability to coordinate and collaborate with multiple departments.

Additional desired skills and experience:

• Proficiency in German is highly desirable.
• Experience with Trackwise, DMS, SAP, MES Syncade.

Required education and qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in supply chain or biotechnology.
• Alternatively, relevant work experience in biotechnology production environment.
