OneAPPS Consulting is seeking an experienced OpenShift Migration Lead to drive enterprise workload migrations from VMware-based environments to Red Hat OpenShift. The role covers assessment, architecture design, migration planning, execution, automation, and operational transition.

Based in Geneva with a hybrid work model, you will collaborate across security, networking, and application teams to deliver scalable container platforms in regulated environments.

Aufgaben

• Assess VMware-hosted apps, infrastructure, and dependencies for OpenShift readiness.
• Define migration approaches and workload discovery & rationalization.
• Lead migration of workloads from VMware vSphere to OpenShift and containerize apps.
• Coordinate cross-team efforts across infrastructure, application, database, security, and network teams.
• Develop IaC and CI/CD pipelines using Ansible, Terraform, and OpenShift Operators.

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced OpenShift Migration Lead to drive the migration of enterprise applications and infrastructure from VMware-based environments to Red Hat OpenShift platforms. The candidate will be responsible for assessment, architecture design, migration planning, execution, automation, and operational transition of workloads to containerized platforms. The role requires strong expertise in VMware virtualization, Kubernetes/OpenShift, infrastructure modernization, DevOps, automation, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

• Assessment & StrategyAssess VMware-hosted applications, infrastructure, and dependencies for OpenShift suitability. Define migration approaches including Rehost, Refactor, Replatform, or Containerization. Conduct workload discovery and application rationalization.
• Architecture & DesignDefine cluster sizing, networking, security, storage, and HA/DR requirements. Design CI/CD integration and GitOps frameworks. Establish container platform governance and standards.
• Migration ExecutionLead migration of workloads from VMware vSphere environments to OpenShift. Containerize legacy and modern applications. Coordinate infrastructure, application, database, security, and network teams.
• Automation & DevOpsDevelop Infrastructure as Code using: Ansible Terraform OpenShift Operators Automate deployment, patching, and operational processes. Integrate OpenShift with enterprise monitoring and logging platforms.
• Security & ComplianceEnsure compliance with organizational security standards. Implement RBAC, SCCs, Network Policies, Secrets Management, and image security scanning. Support regulatory requirements and audit activities.
• Operations & GovernanceEstablish OpenShift operational support model. Define SLAs, KPIs, operational runbooks, and SOPs. Provide governance reporting and executive-level updates. Mentor operations and platform engineering teams.

Required Technical Skills

• VMware VMware vSphere ESXi vCenter NSX vSAN VMware Automation
• Container Platforms Red Hat OpenShift Kubernetes Docker / Podman Linux RHEL Linux administration and troubleshooting

Required Experience

• Experience in Infrastructure Engineering or Platform Engineering.
• Experience in implementing or supporting OpenShift/Kubernetes platforms.
• Experience migrating enterprise workloads to container platforms.
• Experience working in highly regulated environments such as Banking, Financial Services

Preferred Certifications

• Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift
• Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA)
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
• VMware VCP HashiCorp Terraform Certification
