Zusammenfassung

EPFL's Professor Courtine's laboratory in Lausanne seeks a Test Engineer to support the development of neurorehabilitation therapies for patients with motor disabilities.

You will design and implement automated tests, validate medical-grade software, and contribute to hardware-in-the-loop testing with sensors and spinal cord stimulators, collaborating with clinicians and researchers.

The position is a fixed-term 1-year contract at 80-100% activity.

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree in CS, EE, or related field.
• 2 years of experience as a test/software engineer or equivalent.
• Comfortable writing code and building automated test frameworks (C#, Python, C, Rust).
• Knowledge of IEC 62304 or related software lifecycle/quality standards.
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing and interfacing with sensors/hardware.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Aufgaben

• Verifying and validating robust software supporting therapy development (including imagery, therapy optimisation, interfacing with electrical stimulators, home use).
• Ensuring medical-grade software quality following industry best practices for home and clinical use.
• Designing, coding, and driving automation of test suites across the software stack.
• Building and improving a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test bench for sensors and spinal cord stimulators.
• Defining and executing test strategies (unit, integration, system, regression) with traceability and reproducibility.
• Providing remote and on-site support to researchers, clinicians and patients using the tools.
• Contributing to release testing, verification & validation documentation, and quality records per IEC 62304 or related standards.
• Working closely with software engineers to identify risks early and ensure high-quality deliverables.
