Cititec in Zug is seeking an experienced Natural Gas Trader to join our European energy trading team. You will own trading activity, develop proprietary strategies, and contribute to the gas trading framework across major European hubs.

You will manage both speculative and asset-linked positions with disciplined risk controls, working with colleagues across trading, quantitative, commercial and operations to capture opportunities in a fast-moving market.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years' experience trading European natural gas with proven P&L.
• Strong knowledge of major European gas hubs.

Natural Gas Trader - Proprietary Trading

The Opportunity

An established international commodities business is expanding its European energy trading capabilities and is looking to appoint an experienced Natural Gas Trader to join its team in Zug.

The role will focus on identifying and capturing trading opportunities across European natural gas markets, combining fundamental market analysis with disciplined position management. The successful candidate will have meaningful ownership of their trading activity and the opportunity to contribute directly to the development of the wider gas trading strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute proprietary trading strategies across European natural gas markets.
• Manage both speculative and asset-linked positions, maintaining disciplined exposure within agreed risk parameters.
• Form independent views on market direction using supply/demand fundamentals, weather, storage, LNG flows, pipeline dynamics and market positioning.
• Trade and manage exposure across key European hubs, including TTF, THE, NBP, PSV and CEGH.
• Work closely with trading, quantitative, commercial and operational colleagues to improve execution and identify new opportunities.
• Monitor European gas infrastructure, transportation constraints and changing market dynamics.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of trading models, strategies and processes.

About You

• 5+ years' experience trading European natural gas, with a demonstrable history of generating P&L.
• Strong practical knowledge of the major European gas hubs.
• Good understanding of European gas infrastructure, including storage, pipelines, transportation and capacity.
• Comfortable analysing large volumes of fundamental and market data and translating this into actionable trading views.
• Knowledge of the European regulatory environment and relevant market rules.
• Commercially minded, independent and comfortable making decisions in a fast-moving trading environment.
• Highly disciplined approach to risk, position management and execution.
