Zusammenfassung

SR Technics Group, based in Zurich, is seeking a Multi-skilled Mechanic – Thermal Spray Operator to perform coating processes on aircraft engine components and to program ABB robots on the shop floor.

You will work with process engineers and technicians to meet strict quality standards, participate in 5S practices, and contribute to maintenance of coating equipment. English at least B1; German is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• Completed vocational training as a Polymechanic or Mechanical Technician.
• Experience with NC/CNC machines or automated production equipment is an advantage.
• Experience in thermal spray, coating or surface treatment processes is beneficial but not required.
• Accurate, independent and reliable with strong focus on quality.
• Good technical understanding, problem-solving skills and basic IT knowledge.
• Team player with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset; English at least B1.

Aufgaben

• Perform thermal coating operations on aircraft engine components using plasma coating, arc spraying and HVOF.
• Prepare and post-process components for coating, including surface protection, grit blasting and blending.
• Create and operate robotic programs on 6-axis ABB robots and handle components with fixtures.
• Operate, adjust and maintain coating equipment, including changing spray nozzles and refilling powder.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure machines stay in good condition.
• Collaborate with process engineers, equipment specialists, machinists and labs to meet specs.
• Interpret OEM repair manuals, drawings, and manufacturing specs while upholding 5S standards.

Your tasks

• Perform thermal coating operations on aircraft engine components using different coating technologies, including plasma coating, arc spraying and HVOF processes
• Prepare and post-process components for coating, including surface protection, grit blasting and blending activities
• Create and operate robotic programs on 6-axis ABB robots and handle components using dedicated fixtures and equipment
• Operate, adjust and maintain coating equipment, including tasks such as changing spray nozzles, refilling coating powder, checking fluids and filters, and performing equipment alignments
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure machines remain in excellent operating condition
• Work closely with process engineers, equipment specialists, machinists and laboratory teams to meet technical specifications and quality requirements
• Interpret OEM repair manuals, drawings and manufacturing specifications while maintaining a clean and organized workplace according to 5S standards

Your Profile

• Completed vocational training as a Polymechanic, Mechanical Technician or similar technical profession
• Experience with NC/CNC machines or automated production equipment is an advantage
• Experience in thermal spray, coating or surface treatment processes is beneficial but not required
• Accurate, independent and reliable way of working with a strong focus on quality
• Good technical understanding, problem-solving skills and basic IT knowledge
• Team player with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
• English skills at least B1 level; German knowledge is an advantage and willingness to work in a two-shift system
