Job summary

Adaptyv is building an automated lab where AI agents design and run biology experiments. This internship is for a molecular biologist who will own production workflows in our high-throughput lab and help move protocols toward automation.

You will work on cloning, expression, purification, QC, and data integrity, with mentorship and potential for full-time hire after the internship. Location: Lausanne, on-site.

Qualifications

• Real molecular biology work: cloning, expression, purification.
• Experience in QC assays and basic data handling.
• Automation mindset with willingness to script or automate steps.

Responsibilities

• Run cloning and protein production end to end (PCR, assembly, transformation, expression, purification).
• Perform QC on constructs and proteins (capillary electrophoresis, sequencing, SDS-PAGE) and characterize assays.
• Improve flaky workflows to be more reliable and faster through better protocols and automation.
• Work hands-on with liquid handlers and automation to push manual processes toward automation.
• Document data precisely, track samples, and ensure results are reproducible and traceable.
• Diagnose and fix failures across biology, reagents, and instruments.
