Harmattan AI seeks a Director of Engineering for Mission Intelligence to lead and scale multi-site engineering teams across Lausanne and Paris. The role focuses on people management, standardising processes, and aligning engineering efforts with the company’s strategic vision.

You will balance hands-on technical engagement with building high-performing teams, improving tooling, and guiding cross-functional delivery in a demanding autonomous defense environment.

Qualifikationen

• Strong leadership experience and track record managing engineering teams.
• Experience leading applied ML or autonomy engineering teams that shipped production AI systems.
• Ability to build high-performing teams and standardise processes across ML/data/AI domains.
• Hands-on engagement with technical aspects while focusing on people and process.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Aufgaben

• People management & mentorship: oversee performance reviews, career growth and training.
• Recruitment: own hiring to grow the engineering team to meet growth plans.
• Process standardisation: implement standardised processes across ML, data, and AI teams.
• Engineering infrastructure: audit and improve internal tooling for optimal developer resources.
• Organisational strategy: reorganise modules to optimise cross-functional delivery.
• Vision & execution: partner with leadership to shape long-term technical direction.
