The Middle Years Program Lead will shape and scale an innovative educational program designed for children aged 10-14, combining academic excellence with social-emotional development. This role offers the opportunity to lead end-to-end curriculum design, integrating project-based and place-based learning experiences inspired by the world around students. Accountabilities
  • Curriculum and Program Design: Lead the end-to-end development and implementation of the Middle Years curriculum, creating engaging project-based and place-based learning experiences aligned with the organization's core competencies and broader educational framework. Manage freelance curriculum designers when needed and ensure content reflects the academic, developmental, and social-emotional needs of middle years learners.
  • Assessment and Learner Progress: Develop assessment frameworks that measure both academic achievement and social-emotional growth. Use student data, educator feedback, and learning outcomes to identify improvement opportunities and establish effective systems for communicating learner progress across locations.
  • Quality Assurance and Professional Development: Define and maintain consistent standards for program delivery across all education centres. Ensure alignment with WASC accreditation requirements and applicable local regulations. Design scalable professional development initiatives that equip educators with the skills, resources, and guidance needed to deliver high-quality learning experiences.
  • Online Academics and Educational Technology: Identify, evaluate, and manage online education providers responsible for core academic subjects. Lead the implementation of educational technologies across classrooms and collaborate with technology developers and internal product teams to improve existing tools and shape future learning solutions.
  • Global Implementation and Expansion: Partner with education centre directors and education leadership to support effective program delivery across academic, social-emotional, and behavioural dimensions. Contribute to launching the program in new destinations, gather on-site feedback, coach educators, and maintain a consistent experience for students and families worldwide.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the program's subject-matter expert, collaborating with teams across education, product, operations, real estate, interior design, admissions, sales, and marketing to ensure alignment and successful implementation.
  • International Travel: Travel regularly across global destinations to support local teams, observe classroom practices, strengthen educator relationships, and maintain consistent program quality.
Requirements
  • Curriculum Development Expertise: Several years of demonstrated experience designing, developing, and successfully implementing innovative curricula, with a strong understanding of educational program design and continuous improvement.
  • Project-Based Learning: Extensive experience designing and delivering engaging project-based learning experiences, ideally incorporating place-based learning and real-world problem-solving.
  • Middle Years Education: Strong understanding of the academic, social, emotional, and developmental needs of middle years learners. Experience developing high school programs is a significant advantage.
  • Educational Technology: Proven experience selecting and managing online education providers and implementing educational technology across multiple classrooms, campuses, or locations. Experience collaborating with developers on digital learning tools or contributing to educational product design is highly desirable.
  • Program Scaling and Quality Assurance: Experience improving teaching and learning at scale, establishing consistent standards, and building systems that support high-quality delivery across multiple sites or international locations.
  • Assessment and Learner Development: Ability to design meaningful assessment strategies, interpret learner data, monitor academic progress, and support students' social-emotional development.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside educators, program designers, external partners, and cross-functional teams. A collaborative approach to building programs and supporting professional development is essential.
  • Strategic and Operational Mindset: Ability to create scalable processes, manage competing priorities, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment where new systems and solutions must be developed from the ground up.
