Job summary

Lonza Visp is seeking an MES Technical Lead to own daily production tasks and lead the MES team. You will report to Team Lead Documentation, coordinate with stakeholders, and drive improvements while upholding GMP and safety standards.

The role requires a Bachelor or Master in Pharmaceutical Technology, Chemistry, Pharmacy, or a related field, plus MES recipe authoring experience (Emerson Syncade) and knowledge of DeltaV.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in a scientific field related to pharmaceutical technology/chemistry.
• Experience with MES systems, especially Emerson Syncade.
• Knowledge of DeltaV is preferred.
• Understanding of GMP/compliance in manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Set priorities and allocate resources to meet deadlines in production.
• Communicate with stakeholders and participate in improvement projects.
• Ensure safety and GMP compliance.
• Recognize and address deviations; participate in audits and visits.
• Provide frontline MES technical and procedural support to manufacturing teams, QA and plant engineers.
• Train MES team members and support onboarding of new joiners.

As MES Technical Lead, you are responsible for the daily tasks in the production. You and MES team are reporting to Team Lead Documentation who is responsible for the personnel management and development. You are involved in regular exchange meetings with other team leaders/stakeholders in order to optimize efficiency together. You are responsible for training and coaching MES team members, support Team Lead Documentation conducting performance reviews and actively supporting their further development.

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor / Master Degree
• Preferred area of study: Pharmaceutical Technology, Chemistry, Pharmacy or equivalent scientific degree
• Experience in MES recipe authoring, preferably in Emerson Syncade
• Knowledge of DeltaV is preferable
• Knowledge in the area of sterile Drug Product is an asset
• Coordination of resources and workflows Past experience as a lead for a technical team is an asset.
• High motivation and dynamic drive; solution-oriented
• Structured, focused and organized way of working, assertive and motivated, working independently, flexible and resilient
• High attitude for Safety, Quality, Solution focus and Cooperation
• Fluency in both English and German (written and oral) would be an advantage
• Prepared to work flexible working hours
• Good communication skills and interaction with a variety of interfaces within the organization and on the shopfloor
