Job summary

Big Science Sweden söker en mekanisk tekniker för tunnfilmbeläggningar. Du kommer att arbeta inom vakuum, ytor och beläggningar vid CERN under nästa långa stängning. Detta innebär att delta i mekanisk montering och drift av vakuumbeläggningssystem efter träning på plats.

Du måste ha mindre än 2 års erfarenhet sedan examen och kan inte ha en kandidatexamen, masterexamen eller doktorat. Endast sökande från specifika medlemsstater kommer att övervägas.

Qualifications

• Max 2 års yrkeserfarenhet inom tekniskt eller administrativt område.
• Nationalitet från CERN-medlemsstat.
• Ingen tidigare erfarenhet av CERN-fellow eller graduate-kontrakt.

Responsibilities

• Deltaga i den mekaniska montering och drift av vakuumbeläggningssystem.

As part of the Vacuum, surfaces and coatings group of the Technology Department, you will join the teams applying thin carbon coatings in the beam line of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) during the next Long Shutdown. After an initial on-the-field training, you will take part in the mechanical assembly, commissioning and operation of the vacuum coating systems.

Be sure to meet the eligibility criteria

• You are a national of aCERN Member State or Associate Member State . Currently, we cannot consider applications from Pakistani and Lithuanian nationals for positions with a 2026 start date, as the ceiling defined under Article II.5 of the Associate Membership Agreement has been reached.
• By the application deadline, you have a maximum of 2 years of professional experience since graduation in a technical or administrative field and your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma or a shorter non-university degree. You can’t hold a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD.
• You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
