CERN in Geneva is hiring a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer in the EN-MME-FS group. You will fabricate complex components using diverse techniques, either in CERN workshops or via external subcontractors, and work with suppliers across CERN Member States.

This role supports preparations for LS3 upgrades and involves QA/QC and documentation for tenders. You will join a multidisciplinary team developing equipment for CERN projects, requiring strong GD&T, CAD/CAM, and welding skills, with a view

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree with 2–6 years of post-graduation experience.
• Or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation experience.
• You are a CERN member or associate member state national.
• No prior CERN fellow or graduate contract.

Aufgaben

• Collaborate with project stakeholders to optimize fabrication solutions.
• Review and revise 2D drawings with GD&T for fabrication.
• Define make-or-buy strategies for internal vs external production.
• Prepare technical specifications for tenders and price inquiries.
• Prepare fabrication schedules with stakeholders and track activities.
• Lead preparatory fabrication activities including materials and sequences (QA/QC).
• Manage subcontracted production by external companies.
