Job summary

Schindler Group in Locarno, Ticino, Switzerland, is seeking a Material Planner (m/f/d) 80-100% to ensure timely inbound materials for production, while balancing inventory levels, costs and service.

You will generate purchase orders, maintain SAP MM master data, support supplier relationships, and contribute to continuous improvement. A bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics or mathematics and 2+ years in procurement at multinationals with fluency in Italian and English are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Economy or Math.
• At least 2 years experience in procurement or material planning in multinational companies.
• Advanced knowledge of SAP MM and Excel.
• Fluent in Italian and English; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Determine materials required and generate purchase orders with lead times and inbound cost control.
• Balance inventory, inbound costs and customer service to maximize internal production service.
• Ensure consistent and adequate supply of materials for internal production.
• Manage inventory issues, schedule changes and cancellations.
• Liaise with customer support, suppliers and distributors and maintain good relationships.
• Manage SAP master data, ensure accuracy and extract business insights.

Material Planner (m/f/d) 80-100%

Your Main Responsibilities

• Determine the required materials and generating purchase orders ensuring that the material is sourced according to the defined lead time and the inbound cost is under control.
• Balance the trade-off between inventory levels, inbound costs and customer service, working to provide the maximum service for the internal production.
• Ensure the consistent and adequate supply of materials necessary for internal production.
• Manage inventory issues, schedule changes, and cancellations.
• Liaise with customer support, suppliers, and distributors, maintaining good relationship with all of them
• Manage master data and analyze SAP data to ensures that they are always correct and up to date and extract business relevant insights.
• Learn the basics of the inbound flows and their cost drivers to be able to act as deputy of the team Inbound Specialist

What You Bring

• Bachelor degree in Engineering, Economy o Math.
• At least 2 years experience in multinational & structured companies in procurement and/or material planning functions.
• Advanced knowledge of SAP MM and Excel.
• Fluent in Italian and English (German is a plus).
