Job summary

GE Vernova Gas Power in Birr, Switzerland, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support production and engineering teams. You will optimize processes, maintain mBOM and routing, and collaborate across Design Engineering, Procurement and Shop Floor Operations.

Candidates should have Swiss EFZ or equivalent, knowledge of PLM (Teamcenter/Enovia), ERP (SAP), and experience in Lean/CI. Fluency in German and English is required, and a proactive, collaborative mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Completed technical vocational training (Swiss EFZ or equivalent).
• Further education in a technical or management field (HF Technician or B.Sc.).
• Experience with PLM systems (Teamcenter or Enovia).
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP).
• Experience in manufacturing, operations, or HGP engineering environment.
• Ability to interpret complex drawings and quality docs.
• Working knowledge of Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• German and English skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain mBOM within PLM and ensure ERP integration.
• Define routing steps, work instructions, and cycle times for gas turbine parts.
• Perform cost comparisons and support standard price updates.
• Coordinate PLM part definition changes.
• Manage master data for tooling, fixtures, and consumables in ERP for production readiness.
• Drive initiatives to optimize SQDC performance.
• Mentor and coach junior team members on technical development.
• Interface between Design Engineering, Procurement, and Shop Floor to resolve bottlenecks and ensure schedule adherence.

As a Manufacturing Engineer in the Manufacturing Engineering department (Hot Gas Parts/New Parts) at the GE Vernova production site in Birr, you will provide technical support to both production and engineering teams. Through process and cost optimization, you will maintain the organization’s competitiveness and drive results for our customers.

Job Description

What you’ll do

• Create and maintain manufacturing Bill of Materials (mBOM) within the PLM system and ensure seamless integration with the ERP system
• Define and maintain detailed routing steps, work instructions, and production cycle times for complex gas turbine components
• Perform cost comparisons and support annual standard price updates
• Coordinate the implementation of PLM part definition changes
• Manage and maintain master data for tooling, fixtures, and consumables within the ERP system to ensure production readiness
• Drive strategic initiatives to optimize overall production performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC)
• Mentor and coach junior team members to foster technical development and ensure the transfer of specialized knowledge
• Serve as the primary interface between Design Engineering, Procurement, and Shop Floor Operations to resolve technical bottlenecks and ensure schedule adherence

What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)

• Completed technical vocational training (Swiss EFZ or equivalent), ideally as a Polymechanic or Design Engineer

• Further education in a technical or management field (e.g., HF Technician, Process Specialist, or a B.Sc. in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent knowledge and experience

• Proven experience working with PLM systems (ideally Teamcenter or Enovia)

• Hands-on experience with ERP systems (ideally SAP)

• Experience in a manufacturing, operations, or Hot Gas Path (HGP) engineering environment

• Strong ability to interpret complex technical drawings, specifications, and quality documentation

• Working knowledge of Lean/Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies

• Proficiency in German and English skills
