This is a senior commercial leadership role focused on business development, high-quality pipeline generation, and market expansion. The Managing Director will originate, qualify, cultivate, and support conversion of new business opportunities across family offices, private clients, foundations, pensions, and other institutional investors. This individual will engage directly with senior decision makers, centers of influence, and strategic referral sources, helping shape regional business development strategy and translating market intelligence into actionable growth plans. The role requires strong commercial acumen, relationship building skills, credibility with sophisticated investors, and the ability to communicate complex investment concepts clearly and effectively to a range of audiences.
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or professional qualification such as an MBA, CFA, or equivalent preferred. Minimum 15 years of experience in business development, investment consulting, wealth management, investment management, or a related field. Proven track record of originating and converting new business opportunities and building a measurable sales pipeline. Strong knowledge of the Swiss market, especially Geneva and French speaking Switzerland, with established relationships across relevant client and referral networks. Experience working with family offices, private clients, foundations, pensions, and institutional investors is highly desirable. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with strong commercial judgment and the ability to operate effectively in a matrixed organization. Fluency in English and French is required; additional regional language capabilities are a plus.
This role is based in Geneva. Willingness to travel within the region and more broadly as needed is required.
Over time, the successful candidate may have the opportunity to contribute to the executive committee and or management board of Cambridge Associates’ Swiss firm.
