Job summary

coni + partner AG on behalf of its Geneva-based client seeks an experienced risk specialist to strengthen internal control systems and risk governance for a leading international bank in Geneva.

You will monitor ICS data, assess the adequacy of the operational risk framework, and support the development of IC reporting for Legal & Compliance. Fluent English is required; German would be an advantage. Local residence in Switzerland is expected.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Economics.
• CIA or CPA certification would be an advantage.
• Experience in internal controls or process risk in banking, auditing or consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze data related to the bank's ICS and RCSA.
• Assess adequacy of the operational risk framework.
• Improve documentation, processes, frameworks, and risk documentation.
• Collect and analyze internal and external loss data; perform scenario analyses.
• Coordinate risk reviews and implement adjustments for changing risk scenarios.
• Develop IC reporting for Legal & Compliance.
• Design and deliver IC and RCSA trainings; support Legal & Compliance and Internal Audit.

Our client is an international bank in Geneva. We are searching for an experienced risk specialist (m, f, d) as

Your Tasks:

• Monitoring and analysis of data relating to the private bank’s internal control system (ICS), including the risk-based control approach and self-assessment systems (RCSA)
• Assessment of the adequacy and effectiveness of the operational risk framework
• Continuous optimisation of documentation, processes, frameworks and systems, as well as the identification, prioritisation and documentation of risks (e.g. in the areas of operations, IT/cyber, legal and compliance)
• Responsibility for the transparent collection of internal and external loss data, supplemented by ongoing scenario analyses
• Initiation of the relevant risk reviews, as well as the coordination and implementation of adjustments in response to changing risk scenarios, monitoring the implementation of measures and conducting control tests
• Further development of the IC reporting framework for Legal & Compliance
• Design and delivery of IC and RCSA training courses to promote risk awareness
• Providing support for specialist teams, the Legal & Compliance division, Internal Audit and the supervisory authorities
• Ongoing dialogue and meetings with the three lines of defence.

Your Profile:

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Economics
• CIA or CPA certification would be an advantage
• Professional experience in the field of internal controls or process risk management at a bank, in auditing or in consultancy for banks
• Experience in adapting, changing or implementing a regulatory risk framework
• Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail
• Team-oriented approach and a strong understanding of how to interact with people at various organisational levels
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure, and to think in a structured and holistic manner
• Excellent communication skills
• IT skills and very good knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Fluent in English; knowledge of German would be an advantage
• Current place of residence in Switzerland.
