Job summary

Beyond Gravity in Emmen (LU), Switzerland, seeks a Maintenance Manager to lead the TPM discipline for Swiss Structure operations and establish a robust TPM program across the Emmen facility. You will plan, execute and control maintenance scope within time and budget, ensuring safe, compliant and reliable equipment operation.

You will also manage external resources, optimize spare parts inventory, and continuously improve maintenance planning to reduce unplanned downtime and improve throughput,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.
  • Min 3 years of relevant experience.
  • AS9100 and OSHA quality/safety standards knowledge.
  • Tooling experience for processing composites, metallic and non-metallic materials.
  • Automation and machining experience.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the Discipline of Total Productive Maintenance for the Swiss Structure operations.
  • Establish a robust and standardized TPM program for Emmen facilities and revise processes as needed.
  • Plan, execute and deliver on scope, time and budget for all maintenance activities.
  • Ensure plant jigs, tools, machinery and equipment are safe and compliant through preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain equipment in optimal production condition following TPM program.
  • Manage external resources to maintain equipment operations cost-effectively.
  • Review production effectiveness and identify prevention actions for long-term sustainment.
  • Oversee plant reliability with the aim of reducing costs via improved operation and upgrades.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and budget using lean principles; optimize part quantities and reorder points.
  • Develop maintenance planning system to reduce unplanned downtime and increase throughput.
  • Lead according to Beyond Gravity values and drive people and leadership development.

Join our multidisciplinary team of 11 engineers, where you'll help in the industrialization and support of serial production of launch vehicle structures in Emmen (LU). Your mission:
  • Leads the Discipline of Total Productive Maintenance for the Swiss Structure operations
  • Establish a robust and standardized TPM program for the Emmen facilities, with a view to revise current processes and standard operating procedures as needed
  • Plan, execute and deliver on scope, time and budget for all maintenance-related activities
  • Ensure the plant jigs and tool, machinery and equipment are in a safe operating condition by completing planned, preventative and corrective maintenance requirements. Create and maintain a safe and compliant working environment through adherence to all internal and external regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain the equipment in optimal production condition through adherence to the established TPM Program
  • Effectively and economically manage external resources to maintain the equipment operations in accordance with applicable requirements
  • Review production effectiveness continuously to identify opportunities for improvement and work with the Operations team to identify prevention actions that drive long term sustainment action plans
  • Oversee plant and station/equipment reliability for industrial optimization with a view to continuously reduce cost through improved equipment operation, maintenance, and upgrades
  • Manage and organize the critical equipment spare parts inventory and budget using lean manufacturing principles. Work to establish the optimal part quantities and re-order points to mitigate machine downtime
  • Continuously develop and improve the plant's maintenance planning system so that it is an effective tool that helps reduce unplanned downtime and cost, whilst increasing machine productivity and maximizing throughput
  • Leads according to the BG Space's Values and Code of Conduct, and drives the people, knowledge and leadership development
Most important output and KPIs:
  • Establish comprehensive TPM program roadmap, showing short-/mid- and long-term goals and activities
  • Strategically align within BGL the BPM TPM Process and maintain as necessary
  • Establish an BGLC Emmen TPM Budget and maintain year on year
Your profile:
  • Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Mechanical or Aerospace engineering.
  • Min 3 years of company relevant experience.
  • Demonstrates insight into quality and safety standards including AS9100 and OSHA or similar
  • Previously worked with tooling for processing composite, metallic, and non-metallic materials
  • Experience with automation and machining
Nice to have's:
  • Space or Aerospace experience
  • Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma knowledge/experience; experience with SAP or other ERP, MS Office
  • Experience with MES, CAD and other relevant complex software
  • Industrie knowledge
