Zusammenfassung

MET International AG is seeking an experienced LNG Market Analyst to provide daily quantitative analyses of global gas and LNG markets and support the LNG trading desk in pricing, valuation, and portfolio optimization.

You will develop market views, manage risk, and collaborate with traders to enhance pricing models and forecasting methodologies in a fast-paced, international environment.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Energy, or related quantitative discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of LNG/natural gas market analysis experience, preferably in trading.
• Strong understanding of LNG markets, European hubs (TTF, NBP) and regas terminals.
• Experience with LNG valuation, portfolio optimization, and risk management methods.
• Familiarity with gas/LNG derivatives and hedging strategies.
• Proficiency in Excel; Python/SQL/VBA or similar tools highly desirable.

METIis responsible for providing highly competitive supply structures to its gas and power sales affiliates, optimizing its power generation assets, managing the LNG portfolio, and trading around international positions.

Job Description

• Provide daily and ad hoc quantitative analysis of global gas and LNG markets to support the LNG trading desk
• Perform pricing and valuation of LNG cargoes and LNG-to-gas positions across European gas hubs and regasification terminals
• Develop market views and identify profitable trading and hedging opportunities based on fundamental, quantitative, and market analysis
• Conduct financial, commercial, and statistical analyses to support trading decisions, portfolio optimization, and asset valuation
• Develop, maintain, and enhance gas and LNG portfolio models, including valuation, risk management, scenario analysis, and extrinsic value optimization
• Collaborate with traders and the internal analytics team to improve pricing models, forecasting methodologies, and decision-support tools
• Execute and book physical and financial gas/LNG trades in internal trading systems and external trading platforms, including paper and derivative positions where required
• Monitor market fundamentals, including supply-demand balances, shipping, storage, regasification capacity, weather impacts, and regulatory developments.
• Prepare regular market reports, pricing updates, and management presentations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Energy, or a related quantitative discipline
• Minimum 5 years of experience in LNG and natural gas market analysis, preferably supporting a trading environment
• Strong understanding of global LNG markets, European gas hubs (e.g., TTF, NBP), LNG pricing mechanisms, and regasification terminals
• Experience with LNG valuation, portfolio optimization, and risk management methodologies.
• Knowledge of gas and LNG derivatives, hedging strategies, and trading economics
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with proficiency in Excel; experience with Python, SQL, VBA, or other analytical tools is highly desirable
• Familiarity with ETRM systems and trade lifecycle management
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex analyses clearly to traders and senior management
• Ability to work in a fast-paced trading environment and manage multiple priorities
