Aufgaben

• Extend and maintain a scalable, heterogeneous infrastructure across data centers with switches, firewalls, HSMs, servers, virtual devices, and cloud
• Extend and maintain existing and new blockchain nodes
• Contribute to hybrid infrastructure projects
• Ensure the secure operation of backends (load balancing with HAProxy, Apache, Nginx; DB replication)
• Proactively improve monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting (Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, Grafana)
• Maintain services by measuring availability, latency, and health
• Drive integration of secure technologies and applications
• Patch management; deploy firmware and software updates
• Maintain and create technical documentation of infrastructure as code/data
• Stay up to date on latest technologies and cloud native environments

Responsibilities

• Extend and maintain a scalable, heterogeneous infrastructure system over multiple data centers with switches, firewalls, HSMs, as well as physical servers, virtual devices, cloud
• Extend and maintain existing and new blockchain nodes
• Contribute to hybrid infrastructure projects
• Ensure the secure operation of backends (advanced load and fail balancing with HAProxy, Apache, and Nginx, database server replication)
• Proactively control and improve existing monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting infrastructure (Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, Grafana)
• Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health
• Drive integration of secure technologies and applications
• Patch management; continually deploy new firmware and software
• Maintain and create technical documentation of infrastructure as code/data
• Stay technically up to date on latest technologies and cloud native environments

• Degree in computer science or at least 5 years of experience in systems engineering
• In-depth, hands-on Linux system administration skills, Linux certifications (LFCS, LFCE, RHCS… etc.) are a plus
• Great interest in servers, automation, and IT security
• General enthusiasm for open-source software
• Networking skills (switches, firewalls, VPNs, network protocols)
• Knowledge of the existing open-source ecosystem (Linux, Unix, HAProxy, Nginx, Apache, Squid, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Prometheus, Grafana, Ansible, Docker)
• Proven experience in systems engineering and defensive security (DDoS protection, intrusion prevention)
• Above average project management and organizational skills
• High level of integrity and quality awareness
• Cloud (Azure, GCP) experience is an advantage
• Excellent knowledge of English; German is beneficial
• Knowledge in blockchain technologies and crypto assets is desirable
