Job summary

MEG Library - Marie Madeleine Lancoux Library at the City of Geneva seeks a Library Manager to lead the library’s operations and strategic development within a multidisciplinary cultural institution.

You will oversee administration, finances, and staff, while driving projects, training, mediation, and outreach to diverse audiences, including collaboration with partners and multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information sciences or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in a similar role with team management.
• Proficient in Alma Integrated Library System and SLSP cataloguing rules; comfortable with common IT tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the general operation of the library autonomously, and in agreement with the Head of the Public Unit, on administrative, financial, and human resources matters.
• Propose and implement projects that contribute to the development of the library and the MEG.
• Coordinate and guarantee the implementation of the collection policy (acquisitions, classification, restoration, disposal).
• Develop and participate in training, mediation, and internal and external communication actions of the library: internet, social networks, posters, etc.
