Job description

About us:

DeepJudge is Switzerland’s leading AI and ICT scale-up, transforming how law firms and legal departments access and leverage their knowledge. Founded by former Google search engineers with PhDs in AI from ETH Zurich, and backed by top-tier Silicon Valley investors, we are building the intelligence layer that powers the legal industry.

Every firm can license the same AI models, but no two firms share the same institutional knowledge. Decades of experience, work product, and precedent are often trapped across systems, underused and inaccessible. DeepJudge makes this expertise instantly available through world-class enterprise search and AI infrastructure, enabling firms to automate workflows, build knowledge-powered applications, and turn experience into a lasting advantage.

Our technology is trusted by many of the world’s leading law firms, including Freshfields, Gunderson Dettmer, Holland & Knight, Arent Fox, and Cozen O’Connor. Headquartered in Switzerland with a growing team across North America, we are expanding rapidly and shaping the future of how professional knowledge is discovered and applied.

At DeepJudge, we move fast, think rigorously, and care deeply about what we build. We combine cutting-edge research with close collaboration with our clients to deliver solutions that truly make an impact. If you want to be part of a team defining how AI transforms high-stakes knowledge work, this is the place to do it.

We're looking for a thoughtful and pragmatic Legal Workflow Engineer to help shape the future of AI-powered legal work. As a subject matter expert on legal workflows, you will directly contribute to building use cases for various practice areas, and also serve as a resource to our product and engineering teams. Bringing practical insight into how legal professionals work.

About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a lawyer who is passionate about improving how legal work gets done. You are a good fit for this role if you enjoy working with customers as well as internal teams, combining thoughtful research, structured thinking, domain knowledge, and product intuition. This position is an in-office position in our Zurich office headquarters.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on legal workflows and practice-area-specific processes to act as the bridge between legal expertise and technical teams, ensuring that AI workflows are both technically feasible and legally sound.
  • Research legal use cases and identify high-impact AI workflow opportunities, working directly with clients, internal teams, and your own network to understand pain points and priorities.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering to design, test, and refine AI solutions that are both innovative and practical.
  • Contribute to prompt engineering and evaluation strategies for legal-specific tasks, using your legal expertise to improve the output quality of workflows.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop strategies for demonstrating the product to prospective global law firms, highlighting which aspects of the product may be most appealing to specific firms.
  • Ensure our tools align with how lawyers actually work, supporting project management, knowledge reuse, and client service delivery.
  • Facilitate discovery sessions and feedback loops with clients to ensure AI solutions address real-world legal challenges.
Requirements:
  • Education: Law Degree from a Top-Tier school required and MBA preferred
  • Experience practicing law at (a) large international law firm(s), with experience working at a US firm preferred
  • Professional working experience in Legal AI
  • Deep understanding of legal workflows across practice areas, with an ability to discuss and develop both corporate and litigation use cases
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; able to translate legal context into product insight and experience in explaining legal concepts to people without a legal background
  • Comfortable collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including legal professionals, product managers, designers, and software engineers
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
What you can look forward to:
  • Taking full ownership of your projects from day one and delivering tangible results that solve key customer challenges
  • Being part of an ambitious team pushing the frontiers of what's possible with GenAI in professional environments
  • Having a stake in shaping the future of a high-impact, high-growth deep-tech startup
  • A supportive and collaborative company culture that values your contributions
  • Competitive compensation and a nice central office location in Zurich

At DeepJudge, we believe great teams are built on diverse perspectives and experiences.
