Zusammenfassung

Laelaps AI seeks a Hardware Lead to build and own the hardware function from the ground up. You will define hardware strategy across ground, aerial, and stationary platforms, and own the physical robots that run our field foundation models.

You will be deeply hands-on in the first year, building, testing, and iterating on real platforms in real conditions, while laying the groundwork for a hardware org you will later lead.

Qualifikationen

  • 8+ years in robotics or autonomous systems with at least one product fielded.
  • Deep expertise across mechanical, electrical, and systems integration.
  • Hands-on experience taking robots through prototype -> production.
  • Experience managing manufacturing partners and supply chains.
  • Strong systems thinking across mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software.

Aufgaben

  • Define hardware strategy across ground, aerial, and stationary platforms.
  • Mechanically design chassis, mounting, and ruggedization for outdoor deployments.
  • Oversee electrical and electromechanical systems: power, compute, actuation, sensing integration.
  • Integrate sensors (cameras, LiDAR, IMU, GPS, audio) with physical integration.
  • Manage manufacturing and supply chain: prototype-to-production, BOM ownership.
  • Lead field reliability programs: MTBF, qualification, durability.
  • Build and scale the hardware team as the product grows.
