The Swiss School for International Relations is seeking a Lecturer in Law of International Organizations for the Autumn Semester 2026 / Spring Semester 2027. Job Mission

The Swiss School for International Relations invites applications from highly qualified professionals for the position of Lecturer in Law of International Organizations. This role is an exciting opportunity to engage with students pursuing a degree in law and international affairs, and to contribute to the academic development of a specialized legal curriculum.

The successful candidate will:

• Design and deliver a core undergraduate course on Law of International Organizations, with a focus on the legal structures, functions, and accountability mechanisms of bodies such as the United Nations, the World Trade Organization, the World Health Organization, and other intergovernmental institutions.
• Integrate real‑world legal developments and institutional case studies (e.g. Security Council decisions, ICJ opinions, WTO dispute resolution).
• Encourage critical analysis of the legal personality, privileges and immunities, and internal governance of international organizations.
• Participate in curriculum development, updating course materials to reflect emerging challenges in global governance and public international law.
• Foster an interactive classroom environment that promotes student engagement with complex legal systems.

Requirements

• PhD in Law, with a specialization in International Law, Law of International Organizations, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in the legal frameworks of international organizations.
• Teaching experience in public international law or institutional law at the undergraduate or graduate level.
• Familiarity with current institutional reforms, treaty interpretation, and compliance mechanisms within intergovernmental bodies.
• Strong ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and effectively in English.
• Swiss or EU citizenship, or a valid work permit for Switzerland, is required at the time of application.
