Connect44 Sarl is seeking a determined LAN/WAN Network Engineer to join our team in Switzerland. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and operating complex LAN/WAN infrastructures in a highly secure environment for mission-critical networks.

The candidate will handle design preparation, PoC execution, FAT/SAT testing, component evaluation, and change management while ensuring service availability and performance.

Qualifikationen

• Several years of professional experience as a LAN/WAN Network Engineer in enterprise or governmental environments.
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, network security, and monitoring.
• Experience in multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, etc.).
• Solid understanding of ITIL processes, change management, and incident management.
• Analytical, structured, and proactive working style.
• High sense of responsibility and strong teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work in a classified and security-sensitive environment.

Aufgaben

• Design and implementation of LAN/WAN network architectures
• Preparation of high-level and detailed designs, test and integration concepts
• Building and execution of PoC in lab and integration environments
• Execution of FAT/SAT testing (Factory and Site Acceptance Tests)
• Evaluation and homologation of suitable network components
• Release and patch management across test, integration, and production environments
• Ensuring availability and performance optimization of IT network services
• Analysis, documentation, and resolution of incidents, events, and problems
• Leading task forces and working groups for problem resolution and service improvements
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, operating manuals, and specifications
• Administration of documentation systems such as IPAM and RMDB
• Preparation, submission, and implementation of approved Change Requests
• Monitoring and configuration management of assigned IT network services
• Support of on-site installation and commissioning performed by a third party
• Execution of operational network service tasks to maintain system readiness
• Working during maintenance windows and participating in on-call (standby) duty

About the Project

We are seeking experienced LAN/WAN Network Engineers to support the design, implementation, and operation of complex network infrastructures in a highly secure environment.
This project operates within the Swiss Federal Administration, contributing to mission-critical defense and communication networks. It therefore requires exceptional technical expertise, discretion, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implementation of LAN/WAN network architectures
• Preparation of high-level and detailed designs, test and integration concepts
• Building and execution of Proof of Concepts (PoC) in lab and integration environments
• Execution of FAT/SAT testing (Factory and Site Acceptance Tests)
• Evaluation and homologation of suitable network components
• Release and patch management across test, integration, and production environments
• Ensuring availability and performance optimization of IT network services
• Analysis, documentation, and resolution of incidents, events, and problems

Your Profile

• Several years of professional experience as a LAN/WAN Network Engineer in enterprise or governmental environments
• Strong knowledge of routing, switching, network security, and monitoring
• Experience in multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, etc.)
• Solid understanding of ITIL processes, change management, and incident management

• Willingness to work in a classified and security-sensitive environment

Required Certifications (one or more of the following)

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP): Routing & Switching, Security, Service Provider, or Wireless
  or
• Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) in one of the above areas
  or
• Equivalent certification and demonstrable experience
• Valid Swiss work permit and residence (mandatory)
• References: Minimum of 2 professional references (not older than 5 years)
