Job summary

Verity Studios AG is seeking a versatile engineer to blend art and technology in drone choreography software. You will develop features for our drone show operation software and contribute to the choreography tools in C++, while also extending Python-based tools for our global fleet.

Additionally, you will design choreographies with clients and creatives, test new shows in C++, and travel on-site to deliver world-class performances worldwide.

Job description

The Team

For our live events department, we are looking for someone who can translate the emotions of a soundtrack into drone choreography while also bringing solid engineering skills to the table. In this role you’ll help create new choreographies for world-class productions such as Eurovision and artists including Celine Dion and Justin Bieber. Beyond the artistic work, you’ll also contribute to the technical backbone: developing our choreography pipeline, implementing new features in our drone show operation software, and improving the support tools that keep our global fleet flying reliably.

What you'll do

The role is two-fold. 50% of your time will go to development and support work:

• Developing new features for our drone show operation software and our choreography tools in C++
• Improving and extending Python-based support tools for our growing global fleet
• Providing Level 2 and Level 3 support for ongoing shows

The other 50% is dedicated to creating new and ongoing shows, including:

• Collaborating with clients, directors, and creatives to design drone choreographies
• Programming and testing choreographies for new shows in C++
• Traveling on-site to help deliver shows worldwide

What you bring

• Degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a similar field
• Strong Programming skills in C++ and Python
• A passion for creative work, whether professional or a personal artistic hobby, and a talent for translating artistic ideas into language non-technical stakeholders understand
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new topics

Nice to have

• Web development or other modern software tooling experience
• Background in live entertainment, animation, or similar creative fields
• Experience in System and Controls (localization, control, hardware interfaces)
