Junior Business Development Manager

Goal: Execute Dätwyler's New Business & Innovation commercial strategy by engaging prospective and existing customers, validating sales narratives in the field, and feeding structured market intelligence back to leadership — enabling faster, evidence‑based product and partnership decisions.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Outreach & Pipeline Execution
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, technologies, and applications aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Build, qualify and maintain relationships with customers, startups, research institutions, and industry partners.
  • Execute outbound prospecting campaigns defined in the strategic playbooks.
  • Represent Dätwyler at trade shows, conferences, and road shows aligned to the assigned region to stay ahead of market trends.
  • Coordinate with the internal legal team to execute NDAs and joint development agreements for new prospects.
Customer Interviews & Narrative Validation
  • Conduct structured customer discovery interviews to surface pain points, unmet needs, and future product outlook.
  • Test and validate sales narratives and value propositions defined by senior leadership, collecting verbatim feedback.
  • Assess customer receptivity to new technologies and solutions; flag gaps or misalignments to the strategy team.
  • Gather competitive intelligence from customer conversations; document and accelerate findings in a structured format.
Relationship Development
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with key contacts at prospective and existing client organizations.
  • Advance conversations from initial engagement through qualification and into joint development or commercial agreements.
  • Ensure customers are onboarded smoothly to experience Dätwyler technologies; coordinate internally as needed.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of all leads, opportunities, and customer interactions in Salesforce CRM.
  • Contribute structured field intelligence – customer feedback, trend observations, competitor signals – to the senior strategy team.
  • Support the development of business cases by collecting quantitative and qualitative customer perspectives.
  • Provide input on opportunity prioritisation and win themes to leadership in regular pipeline reviews.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration with BUs
  • Work with Marketing and Business Unit leads to align on value propositions before customer engagements.
  • Relay customer feedback and external insights to product and innovation teams to inform roadmap decisions.
  • Contribute to internal reporting and metrics tracking as directed by senior leadership.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
