Junior Business Development Manager
Goal: Execute Dätwyler's New Business & Innovation commercial strategy by engaging prospective and existing customers, validating sales narratives in the field, and feeding structured market intelligence back to leadership — enabling faster, evidence‑based product and partnership decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Outreach & Pipeline Execution
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, technologies, and applications aligned with strategic priorities.
- Build, qualify and maintain relationships with customers, startups, research institutions, and industry partners.
- Execute outbound prospecting campaigns defined in the strategic playbooks.
- Represent Dätwyler at trade shows, conferences, and road shows aligned to the assigned region to stay ahead of market trends.
- Coordinate with the internal legal team to execute NDAs and joint development agreements for new prospects.
Customer Interviews & Narrative Validation
- Conduct structured customer discovery interviews to surface pain points, unmet needs, and future product outlook.
- Test and validate sales narratives and value propositions defined by senior leadership, collecting verbatim feedback.
- Assess customer receptivity to new technologies and solutions; flag gaps or misalignments to the strategy team.
- Gather competitive intelligence from customer conversations; document and accelerate findings in a structured format.
Relationship Development
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with key contacts at prospective and existing client organizations.
- Advance conversations from initial engagement through qualification and into joint development or commercial agreements.
- Ensure customers are onboarded smoothly to experience Dätwyler technologies; coordinate internally as needed.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of all leads, opportunities, and customer interactions in Salesforce CRM.
- Contribute structured field intelligence – customer feedback, trend observations, competitor signals – to the senior strategy team.
- Support the development of business cases by collecting quantitative and qualitative customer perspectives.
- Provide input on opportunity prioritisation and win themes to leadership in regular pipeline reviews.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration with BUs
- Work with Marketing and Business Unit leads to align on value propositions before customer engagements.
- Relay customer feedback and external insights to product and innovation teams to inform roadmap decisions.
- Contribute to internal reporting and metrics tracking as directed by senior leadership.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
- Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in sales, marketing, commercial operations, or business development — ideally in an industrial, medtech, or deep‑tech environment.
- Demonstrated track record of managing the early stages of a sales or partnership pipeline.

Tools & Systems
- Proficient in Salesforce or equivalent CRM for pipeline and activity management.
- Comfortable using AI‑assisted tools for research, outreach drafting, and insight synthesis.
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
